Blind loges (boxes) were loges in which there was no direct line
of sight between the loge and the stage. Blind loges were often
used for musicians such as trumpeters and drum players. Loges
other than blind loges were used for the crown (king, queen) and
other important personages such as leading bourgeoise, and princes
of the church. See Sauter and Wiles, p. 119.
